James Nasmyth (1808 - 1890)
Tactile Interpretation for National Galleries of Scotland Art Competition for Schools 2008
A shiny black plastic was used for the background of this copy of a photograph and fabric used for the shirt and cuffs. The hand is made from grey silk which is tucked to give the effect of wrinkles and the high sheen of which reflects the highlights shown on the photograph.
