Kasimir Malevich developed the abstract art movement called Suprematism. His aim was to free art from the burden of the object. He wanted to get away from seeing a picture as a story. This picture is exactly what it is called, a black square in the middle of a white background. This tactile interpretation has the added dimension of touch and the colours have a very different contrasting feel to them.
