The Chair and the Pipe
by Vincent van Gogh
Vincent's chair is a yellow ladder back chair with double stretchers between the chair legs and a rushed seat. It stands on a red tiled floor. The floor in this picture is made from vinyl, slashed and inner-stitched to represent the grouting. The chair frame is created in stitched wool to give the solid effect of wood and embroidery threads reproduce the rushed seating. The pipe is made of leather and the tobacco from small beads.
