Noah and the Great Flood
13th Century mosaic from
St Mark's Church, Venice
This picture has been stitched onto vinyl fabric to represent the cold stone of the original, small squared stitching to represent the individual tiles of the mosaic. While different fabrics have been used to portray the picture, the overall effect has remained close to the uniform feel of a mosaic. A request for a mosaic picture was made by one of the participating schools in order to extend the scope of the library from paintings to other aspects of art through history.
