The Red Model (1937) René Magritte, a Belgian surrealist painter, refers to this picture as the union of the human foot and a shoe. The feet stand on rough ground which is made from material stretched over bubble wrap to give a crunchy feel to the ground. The fencing is created by stitching narrow ribbon across fabric to give the panelled effect. |
