Roses
In order to broaden the base of the library and show a wider range of art, we are now including some folk art. Canal art is again very popular and is a good example of British folk art. Used by bargees to decorate their narrow-boats and the utensils found on the boat, it is now very popularly giving a rustic touch to some of our homes. Roses and castles are the traditional pictures that are painted, a basic style to which each painter gives his own identity. This traditional style of roses is made from thread on a silk background.
