Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh
A textured silk represents the canvas of this painting and satin ribbon the stems of the sunflowers. The flowers themselves are made from wool stitched in different ways to provide a contrasting feel between the different varieties. The seed heads are given texture by using small beads. The vase in the centre is padded to give shape and materials have been chosen to define the contrast between the rough earthenware and the smooth glaze.
